Contact the Desk
There is one editorial mailbox, [email protected], and it is for editorial matters only.
The one mailbox
The desk has a single editorial mailbox: [email protected]. Write to it for corrections, for questions about how a page was checked, or to point out a figure that looks out of date. We read what arrives, but we do not promise a response time in hours or days, and we do not run a live chat or a phone line.
Keep the message specific. A page address, the sentence you are questioning and the document you are relying on make a correction possible; a general complaint about a broker does not. We do not accept attachments we cannot verify and we do not open account statements sent to us.
What to include when you write about a gold calculation or a page error
For a gold calculation question, send the exact XAU/USD price you used, the lot size (for example 0.10 lots), and the pip value you are checking against. State that one standard lot is 100 oz and one pip is 0.01, and show the arithmetic you expect. If you are comparing a margin figure, include the leverage ratio you assumed and whether it came from the offshore entity or a review. Without those inputs we cannot tell whether the error is in the formula or in the assumption, and we will have to ask before we can answer.
For a factual error on a page, send the URL, the exact sentence or number you believe is wrong, and the source you are relying on. If the claim concerns regulation in Nigeria, point to the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators or the relevant regulator's public record. If it concerns a cost or a leverage cap, say which entity you are looking at, because the figure can differ between the entity that serves Nigeria and the group's licensed entities. A screenshot or a quoted line is enough; we do not need your account details.
For a broken link, a missing table or a page that will not load, send the URL, the device and browser you used, and what you expected to see. If a number appears in a currency other than naira, say whether you were reading on a mobile connection or a desktop, because formatting can differ. Do not send passwords, card numbers, bank transfer receipts or any identity document. We only need enough to reproduce the problem, and anything beyond that is unnecessary risk for you.
The response window you should plan around
Expect a reply within a few working days, not within hours. Messages are read in the order they arrive, and a question that needs a calculation checked or a page corrected takes longer than a simple pointer. We do not promise a same-day answer, and we do not run a live chat. If your message arrives over a weekend or a Nigerian public holiday, count the working days from the next business day. Plan around that window rather than sending a follow-up after a few hours, which only adds to the queue.
The window depends on what you send. A clear message with the URL, the number, the lot size and the source can be answered in one pass. A message that omits the price, the leverage assumption or the page address will need a clarifying reply first, which restarts the clock. Corrections that touch a regulated claim, such as a licence reference, are checked against the public record before we change anything, so they take longer than a typo. Sending everything in the first message is the single biggest thing you can do to shorten the wait.
We answer in English and in writing only. We do not call, and we do not answer account or funding questions by phone. If you have sent a message and the window has passed, resend it once with the same detail rather than opening a new thread, because duplicate threads split the context. There is no expedited queue for a fee, and no paid support tier; every message waits its turn. If your matter is urgent because money has moved, it is not a question for this mailbox, and the section below says where it goes.
How a correction request is logged and checked before anything changes
A correction request is logged with the page address, the disputed line and your source, then checked against the facts the page was written from. If the page stated a number it was not given, the line is corrected or removed. If the page made a claim about cost, leverage or regulation that the source does not support, the claim is rewritten to say what the cost consists of and what it depends on, rather than replaced with a different unsupported number. You will not see a public changelog for every edit, but the page itself will read differently.
The check is deliberately narrow. We confirm whether the disputed statement is supported by the facts available to us, not whether a different broker, a different entity or a different review would give a different answer. On leverage, for example, the page records that up to 1:200 is available via the offshore entity and that one review cited 1:30 or 1:20 caps, conflicting and unverified; we will not resolve that conflict by picking a side. On regulation, the caveat that FxPro is licensed by the FCA, CySEC and FSCA and that you should confirm any broker on the SEC Nigeria register stands as written.
If your correction is accepted, the page is amended and the disputed wording is removed or restated. If it is not accepted, you get a short reply saying why, usually because the source you sent does not cover the claim or because the page already frames the point as dependent on the entity or the review. We do not negotiate wording to suit a broker, an affiliate or a competitor, and we do not add promotional language in exchange for a correction. The test is whether the page is accurate and useful to a reader in Nigeria, not whether it pleases the party named on it.
The details that make a message answerable in one reply
A useful message names the page, quotes the exact line, states the number you are questioning and gives the source for your version. For a gold question, that means the XAU/USD price, the lot size, the pip definition of 0.01 and the margin or pip value you calculated. For a funding question, name the method from the list that applies to you: local NGN bank transfer, Visa or Mastercard debit card, e-payment or crypto. Vague messages such as asking whether a cost is fair cannot be answered, because fairness is not a figure we hold.
Say what you want the answer to do. If you want a page corrected, say which sentence should change and to what. If you want a calculation checked, show your arithmetic so the reply can confirm or correct a specific step. If you want to know where to confirm a broker, say that you are asking about the SEC Nigeria register. A message with a clear ask gets a clear answer; a message that describes a general unease about trading gold will get a general pointer at best, because there is no specific claim to check.
Keep it short and keep it safe. One screen of text with the URL, the quote, the numbers and the source is enough. Do not attach bank statements, card images, identity documents or screenshots of your trading account. Do not send a password or a one-time code, and do not ask us to log in anywhere on your behalf. If your message contains any of that, delete it and resend without it; we will not use it, and holding it creates a risk for you that the question never required.
Account access, fund recovery and personal advice belong with your broker and the regulator
We cannot unlock an account, trace a transfer, reverse a card payment or recover funds. Those actions sit with the entity that holds your money and, where a dispute is not resolved, with the regulator. For a broker serving Nigeria, the first step is the broker's own support channel and its formal complaints procedure; keep the ticket numbers and dates. If the matter concerns whether an operator is registered to do business in Nigeria, check the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators and raise it there. A cost and mechanics reference cannot move money and will not pretend to.
We cannot give personal trading advice, and we will not tell you whether to trade gold at all. We can explain how a 0.10-lot position uses about $85.50 margin at 1:200 via the offshore entity, and we can repeat that leverage is a cap rather than a setting to aim for, but we cannot apply that to your income, your debts or your plans for the naira you hold. If your question is really about how much to risk, the honest answer is that it depends on your circumstances and belongs with a licensed adviser, not with a page about costs.
We also cannot act as an intermediary between you and a broker, a bank or a card issuer, and we cannot confirm whether a specific payment method will work for your account. What we can do is explain what each listed method is, point you to the broker's own terms for the operational detail, and remind you that the entity serving Nigeria is FxPro Markets Direct Costa Rica Latam SRL, while the group's licences are with the FCA, CySEC and FSCA. If your message is one of these, we will redirect it rather than sit on it.
What we will and will not help with
We will help with editorial questions: how a broker was ranked, where a number came from, or why a page says what it says. We will not help with account problems, deposit or withdrawal disputes, or fund recovery. We are not a broker, bank or licensed adviser, so we cannot access an account, reverse a transfer or chase money on a reader's behalf.
We also do not give personal advice. We cannot tell you whether to buy or sell gold, how much to risk, or which leverage to use. For a dispute with a broker, the right route is the broker's own complaints process and, where relevant, the regulator named in the caveat: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA; confirm any broker on the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators.
Questions we can answer about mechanics, and the personal advice we will not give
We can answer how the mechanics work: how pip value is derived for XAU/USD when one lot is 100 oz and one pip is 0.01, how margin is calculated at a stated leverage, and what a worked figure such as about $85.50 margin on a 0.10-lot position at 1:200 implies. We can explain what a funding method is and how bank transfer, cards, e-payments and crypto differ in process, and we can point you to the SEC Nigeria register to confirm a broker. We cannot tell you whether to buy, sell, hold, or size a position for your own account.
We cannot answer questions that require knowing your finances, your risk tolerance or your tax position. We will not say whether gold is a good investment for you, whether a particular entry or stop is right, or how much of your naira savings to allocate. Those are personal decisions, and any answer we gave would be a guess dressed up as guidance. If your question is really about account access, fund recovery or a dispute with a broker, it is outside what a cost and mechanics reference can resolve, and we will say so rather than attempt it.
We also cannot verify another person's account, confirm a withdrawal, or interpret a broker's contract for you. We can explain what a term generally means and where the authoritative document sits, but the binding answer comes from the entity you contracted with and, for regulatory status in Nigeria, from the SEC Nigeria register. If you are unsure whether your question is in scope, send it anyway with the specifics; we will tell you plainly if it is something we cannot answer and point you to the right place.
No guest posts or paid placement
The desk does not accept guest posts, sponsored reviews or paid placement at any price. Every page is written and checked in-house, and affiliate links are the only revenue. If you are offered a review in exchange for payment, it did not come from this desk.
That rule protects the ranking. A broker cannot buy a better position, and a reader cannot pay to have a weakness removed. If a broker's terms change, we re-check the page and date the change; we do not quietly rewrite it to suit anyone.
